Brandon Matera of the Gold Coast Suns went through ankle surgery after spraining his ankle when tackled by an opponent. Matera had a screw inserted into his ankle and expects to miss 10-12 weeks of gameplay as a result. “It’s very disappointing for Materia to have an injury like that,” assistant coach Dean Solomon said. The season seems dim, with several other players benched from injuries.
