A few simple rules to help manage your diabetes:
A if for A1C (also called hemoglobin A1C) is a test reflecting the average blood glucose over the past 3 months. For most people with diabetes the goal is <7. An A1C of 7 corresponds to an average blood glucose level of 150 mg/dl.
B is for Blood Pressure. For most diabetics the goal is <130/80 mm Hg.
C is for Cholesterol. Most diabetics should strive for a LDL level of <100 mg/dl, an HDL level of >40 mg/dl for men and > 50 in women. Triglyceride levels should be < 150.
